DunDunDun.......... BAT-CAKES!!!

Ok. Potentially thee worst name for a new post I have come up with, but it is 11 o'clock at night and I was struggling. Please forgive me.
There is some logic behind my madness though. For those of you that do not know I am now making cakes for The Hanging Bat on Lothian Road!! Beer-cakes nonetheless. Tres fun for me! So do go... have a beer (the selection is amazing) and if there is a lovely looking cake perched on the end of the bar it would not be the end of the world if you bought a slice! =)
So follows the barrage of photos as per usual.
Although if anyone knows of anywhere/has a suggestion as to where I could start to/offer to make cakes for please give me a shout, it would be muchly appreciated!
Over and out.

Chocolate, Sour Cream and Crushed Oreo Birthday Cake

This one was tasty. Smashing oreos to tiny pieces with a rolling pin is also strangely satisfying.

Cake Pops!!!
Orange and White Chocolate Cake Pops. Time consuming. Fun. And the first time I ever eaten one.

Adios Amigo!
Raspberry, Passionfruit Curd and White Chocolate Cake to say bye byes to Steph!! =(

White Chocolate Chip and Crushed Oreo Brownies
I think I maybe went through a bit of a crushed Oreo Stage at some point???

FIRST EVER BAT-CAKE
Yes. I am calling them Bat-Cakes. It makes me feel like a Culinary Superhero (they are the best kind). This fine specimen was Coffee and Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout Cake.

Strawberry, Lime and Crushed Meringue Cheesecake
This one will be firmly be getting added to my favourites list. Pretty pleased with it!

Technical Challenge - Paul's Iced Fingers
I am pretty sure Mr Hollywood makes better himself but I better get practicing if I ever stand a hope of getting on the Bake Off Next Year.

Double Chocolate, Orange and Cointreau Cake
I was asked to make a 'Medical Themed' Graduation Cake.
This was the result. Hopefully worth the 15 squidders he paid for it!! =)

Another Bat-Cake!
Some cheeky little so-and-so stole the cake Stand from the Hanging Bat so I was MIA for a few weeks. This Chocolate and Coconut Porter was my Happy Return!

More Bat-Cake!!
This was a Sticky Toffee IPA number which was warmly welcomed by the staff with greetings of - Oh My God..... it has Werther's Originals on it!

A 'Cake-Prop Favour'
A cake not made for tasting amazing, but to look great in a photo shoot.
Still am not happy when I look at it now. But I learned a lot from doing it!

Happy 4th Birthday Holyrood 9a!!
Having worked in Holyrood for over a year I was well chuffed when they asked me to make the Cake for their 4th Birthday Party Celebrations! This was the start of the Beer Cakes..... Double Chocolate and Zombier Cake. Nom.

Most Recent Bat-Cake!
This is the most recent bit of baking I have done lately.... there might even be some left if you get there ASAP. This is a twist on a classic. Coffee, Walnut and Summer Wine Brewery Maelstrom Double IPA.

So I think that is my photo archive empty for now...... I guess that means I should get that oven on.

So..... I might have forgotten about this..... again.

Worst. Blogger. Ever. Nearly 4 whole months of absolutely nothing. Zero. Ziltch.
I have ended up back here after a wee visit from a chum from the States who mentioned about a website for my cakes and such. So here I am. Back talking gibberish and filling up yo' screens with pictures of cakes you may or may not have seen before..... but I am still hoping nonetheless that you enjoy it!

Mint Chocolate Dollar Cupcakes
Just a few wee Mint Chocolate ones for an accountant...... I feel that kinda explains that random Dollar sign!

Baileys and Coffee Brownie
First experiment with Gluten Free Flour..... Baileys Brownie with Coffee Cream Cheese. YUM.

A Leisurely afternoon baking and sipping Prosecco
Lemon Meringue Cupcakes...... we got to use a blowtorch! Fun. And scary.

Valentines Day Empire Biscuits
I definitely tried to make these look like they had been made by a five year old on purpose!

Crushed Oreo and Baileys Pavlova

Easter Rocky Road
Best substitute for an Easter Egg. Ever. Mini Eggs. Home made Marshmallows. Creme Eggs and loads of chocolate.

Lemon and Passionfruit Cheesecake

Viennese Whirls
My Favourite biscuits in the world. They taste even better with home made jam!!

Happy Birthday!!
This was a bit of a jumble of a cake.... but apparently it tasted good. Phew.

Rhubarb and White Chocolate Cheesecake
It is so pink!??! ..... And tasty.

Chocolate Birthday Cake

Happy Second Birthday Brewdog!!
Orange and White Chocolate Cake with Crumbled up Rum Brownies in the Middle.

Another Afternoon of Baking, Prosecco and Loud 80s Music.

This time we made Chocolate and Salted Caramel!

Beer Cake!!!!
I love Tempest Brewery. So their Double Cresta went into this Chocolate cupcake with Salted Caramel icing.

Chocolate, Amaretto and Diam Bar
Yum. Yum. I could eat Diam Bars all day.

So. I think that is about all for now. Exciting news is I have been asked to bake a Beer Birthday Cake for the lovely folks at my work, Holyrood 9a, so plenty fun experimenting to come!
I. Am. Excited.

Two Months?!?!?...... What a poor show.

Afternoon Folks.
I actually cannot believe I have not written anything since November...... shameful!!!!!
It is now 2013 and the year of the saving, T Minus 2 years.. then I might be making some progress.
I have happily been brought back to my silly wee blog, which consists mainly of #foodporn (Note: I do NOT even know how to use twitter. let alone if I have done that right?!) because one of my lovely colleagues at Holyrood 9a has asked me to bake her Sister a birthday cake. Flattered. Nervous. Excited. That covers it. Photo to follow..... do not get in a fluster.

In the meantime. Cake. Photo. Hunger.

Raspberrry and White Chocolate Cheesecake

Jack Daniels and Coke
A wee Birthday treat for a JD-aholic..... I am not entirely convinced coke sponge with JD icing works, but he liked them!!?

Vanilla, Chocolate, Rolo and Malteser Cheesecake
Bottom Layer - Vanilla Cheesecake with Mini Rolos. Top Layer - Chocolate with crushed Maltesers. Nom. Nom.

Christmas Day Dessert
Apple Tarte Tatin...... and I used my new ice cream maker to do some Butterscotch Ice Cream to go with it..... the parentals enthusiastically approved.

My Favourite So Far
Lemon, Lime and White Chocolate Cheesecake. I could have eaten this all. Regretting sharing it now.

Macaroons!!
I was on Skye. I was bored. I had been wanting to try these forever..... and just look at them!! Chuffed. Chocolate Macaroons, some filled with jam and vanilla buttercream, some coffee and some orange. They are so small they can't be that bad for you?! Right??

So...... that is all for now.
Just a note to everyone who actually bothers to take a minute out of whatever they are doing to read this/likes it on facebook/sends me a nice comment.
*Thank you*
You are all brilliant.
